ASCENTEK ANNOUNCES $50 MILLION EXPANSION IN SHREVEPORT, LA

We’re excited to announce that Ascentek is making a major investment in the future of our operations and one of our communities. With a commitment of over $50 million, we’re expanding and enhancing our manufacturing and distribution capabilities in Shreveport, Louisiana to meet growing global demand and better serve our customers. Our Shreveport team has been a part of the Ascentek family for the last 10 years, and we are excited to see how this expansion will help us position ourselves as a key partner for customers around the world for decades to come.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

As part of this expansion, we will construct a new 270,000-square-foot Manufacturing Assistance Facility (MAF) connected to our current facility in Shreveport. This new facility will feature high-speed production lines, advanced material handling systems and expanded storage capacity – all designed to improve efficiency and scalability across our operations.

The new MAF also greatly expands our capabilities for battery charging, distribution and domestic assembly of start batteries – addressing critical issues and onshoring OEM battery supply chains.

In addition to the new build, we’re also upgrading our existing facility to support long-term growth and operational excellence.

TIMELINE AND MILESTONES

  • Groundbreaking: Fall 2025
  • Construction Duration: 18 to 24 months
  • Target Completion: Q1 2027

We’re currently in the planning and preparation phase, with construction set to begin later this year.

ECONOMIC AND WORKFORCE IMPACT

The MAF is expected to create 91 new direct jobs, while keeping 105 existing positions. According to Louisiana Economic Development, the expansion could generate up to 338 new jobs in the region when including indirect employment.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue investing in the Shreveport community and contributing to the economic vitality of Northwest Louisiana.

A SHARED VISION FOR GROWTH

“The buildout of our new Manufacturing Assistance Facility and the improvements we’re making to our existing facility in Shreveport not only broaden the ways we can support our customers but reinforce our commitment to the Shreveport community,”

said Chad Baker, President and CEO of Ascentek.

“Between job creation, economic stimulation and future growth, Ascentek is here to create a unique working environment for every teammate that joins the Ascentek family.”

That commitment is shared by local leadership. Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux shared his excitement for the project, stating:

“Ascentek’s investment is a tremendous vote of confidence in Shreveport’s future. This expansion will not only bring new jobs to our city but improve critical infrastructure and reinforce our reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing. We’re proud to support a company that’s growing with purpose and choosing to do so right here in our community.”

Together, Ascentek, Shreveport and the state of Louisiana believe in growth – growth that strengthens our teammates, enhances our capabilities and abilities to serve our customers and deepens our roots in the communities we serve.
